Women in Business Spain – WIBS – was formed in February 2002 by a small group of successful businesswomen in Marbella. They decided to meet on a regular basis and invite other successful women to join them so that ideas and experiences could be shared to mutual advantage. Since then the group has grown from strength to strength with Women in Business now being the premier, female networking group on the Costa del Sol.
Our Philosophy
… is to give and to share ideas with each other with the view to helping each other, both in business and personally. From our experience this reaps rewards in the long-term with great friendships and business alliances being created. Our members who follow this lead find that they receive help in return effortlessly and without asking.
WIBS Today
WIBS offers encouragement and support to all women who wish to develop their business and network with like minded professionals in the Costa del Sol. The current membership consists of a wide spectrum of knowledgeable and talented women, from all walks of life and all ages. There is really no area of business where you cannot find a local expert within Women in Business. Our philosophy is to look within the membership group for assistance and advice, both in a business and personal capacity. Its also a great way to make friends!
Meetings
We meet on a monthly basis, usually for networking luncheons, and occassionally breakfast and evening meetings. Members and invited guests have the opportunity to chat, network, share ideas and learn from each other. Each meeting has a topical theme presented by members of the group or an invited speaker. Members include women running their own businesses, managers and senior figures from large organisations and women who work for or run companies in and around the Costa del Sol.
How to become a member
You can attend one WIBS meeting as a guest to see whether the organisation suits your needs. After your first lunch, you need to become a member to attend further lunches. Membership costs are EUR75 for sole traders and EUR120 for corporate memberships. There is a charge to attend the meetings, to cover the cost of your meal or refreshments. We aim to keep the costs as low as possible with a lunch fee around EUR25 or 30 for members and EUR30 or 35 for guests.
